Course Description:
Therapists play a critical role in the management of patients receiving mechanical ventilation. It is important to understand mechanical ventilation to optimize delivery of care and improve outcomes. This 4-hour webinar is ideal for any therapists who are currently or considering working with patients on mechanical ventilation in ICU, long term acute care hospitals, or home health services. The content is focused on essential information and includes an overview of basic pulmonary concepts, invasive mechanical ventilation, and non-invasive ventilation. The discontinuation of mechanical ventilation and specific therapeutic interventions to improve bronchial hygiene and functional status will not be addressed.
